Parts
I charge parts at what they cost me plus 15% for sourcing and handling, and strings at shop price. You're welcome to bring your own parts or strings. I'll fit them, but I can't guarantee parts I didn't supply.
Quotes
Setups and straightforward jobs have fixed prices. Faults need finding before they can be priced, which is what the assessment fee covers. If you go ahead, it comes off the bill. If you decide not to go ahead, or I can't fix it, you pay the assessment fee, if there was one, and no other labour.
Once you've agreed a quote, I won't go over it without asking you first. If a repair would cost more than the thing is worth, I'll tell you before you spend the money.
Booking
Email contact@beigethreat.com with:
- what it is: make, model, and year if you know it;
- what's wrong and when it started;
- anything you've already tried;
- whether you'll drop it off or post it.
I reply within 2 working days with a price or a price range and a date. If you agree a quote by email and want me to start straight away, say so: otherwise I wait out the 14-day cancellation period first. The repair terms explain how cancelling works. Turnaround times on this page start from the day I've got the item and you've agreed the quote. If parts need ordering I'll give you a new date.
Not sure it's broken? Try the checks in the guides first.
Drop-off
I'm in Margate and work by appointment. I send the address when we book a time. Bring the power supply for anything that isn't standard 9V, and for amps, bring the footswitch too.
Post (pedals and guitars)
Email first so I know it's coming. Pack pedals in bubble wrap inside a box. Post guitars in a hard case inside a box, or in a guitar shipping box, with the strings slackened. Put a note inside with your name, email and the fault. Use a tracked, insured service. Return postage is charged at cost, and I send everything back tracked and insured.
Payment
Payment is due on collection. For posted items, pay before I send it back.
Guarantee and collection
My work is guaranteed for 6 months from the date I finish it. Valves I supply are guaranteed for 90 days. The guarantee covers the work I did, not new faults elsewhere or accidental damage. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 aren't affected.
I'll let you know when it's ready. Storage is free for 30 days after that, then £2 a day. I'll remind you before I start charging. The full details, including what happens to gear that's never collected, are in the repair terms.
